I am a proud book nerd who loves teaching at Mepham! I started teaching here in September of 2000, and am proud to have found my home at W.C. Mepham. I came to teaching after trying a number of different jobs including sales, landscaping, carpentry, and T.V. production. None of these jobs came even close to being as rewarding as working with the students at our school. I want you to know that I am here to help you, and I am excited about learning.
I have have a few core philosophies when it comes to teaching. #1 - To be a good teacher you have to respect your students, and that honesty and respect is key to good teaching and learning... #2 - I never assign work that I don't do myself, and #3 - I have to work hard to create lessons that interest my new students each year. As a result, I have pride in what I do and high expectations for myself. This means, of course, that I have high expectations for my students too.
Outside of teaching, some of my interests include reading and writing, of course. This summer my favorite read was a the auto-biography of Lee Iacocca (I'm really into cars too). Lately though, it seems I'm involved in whatever my 12-year-old daughter, Olivia, is interested in. I also love spending time with my friends and family, going to concerts, fishing, boating and yes; it surprises most people that I am into motorcycling.
